Dang, he nailed it
Everybody knows Fridays are in general completely awesome.
Even Oscar knows Fridays are made for good times.
Within in the last month or so Oscar’s language has completely taken off. It’s what I liken to the image of the kids I see at Matilda’s gymnastics class: running, full out sprinting, springing, vaulting.
His words are just tumbling out now in neat and organized ways. Round off back handspring back tuck. Stick the landing. Stick the landing. He’s sticking his landings. Full of punctuation, inflection. His routine has lots of pizazz.
What I’m saying is he’s able to construct full sentences. The most popular being I want that or I don’t want that. Which when you think about– it is a pretty genius, all encompassing works for every situation useful, helpful phrase.
This morning he was giving me smooches and I was giving him smooches and I said Oscar say I love you. I LOVE YOU. Say it. Say I. Love. You. I! Love! You!
Uhh. Uhh. He wouldn’t. He said no. He said NO! We played and we wrestled. He grabbed my nose and said NOSE! And then he ran away. He got up and ran out of the room.
I went back to the computer. Went to upload some photos. When.
That boy. That twenty-two month old jokester. That boy with his goofy grin and blue, blue eyes–charged at me.
Ran. Sprung. Vaulted. Tumbled across the living room and finished at my side yelling YAV YOU!
That’s LOVE YOU!
Dang, he nailed it. Landing thoroughly, solidly stuck right inside my heart.
Happy Friday indeed.
Some other pics from around….
Have a great weekend!
